IPSWICH LABOUR HAVE LET OUR RESIDENTS DOWN FOR FAR TOO LONG - AND ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE OF ADMINISTRATION.

IPSWICH LABOUR HAVE LET OUR RESIDENTS DOWN FOR FAR TOO LONG AND ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE OF ADMINISTRATION. Getting on with the job On 5 May 2022 the UK will vote in a crucial set of local elections. People will choose more than 6000 councillors and assembly members across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. These elections matter–they will decide who runs services in your area–and how much you will pay for them. But not only that, they will give an indication of how people feel, which is usually negatively against the government at half term. The sad thing is only about 35-40% will vote because many think their vote doesn’t count – BUT it does! I went to Brighton a couple of weeks ago and although not perfect it is a fun place with only double the population we have in Ipswich. I’m a Fun with a Serious Intent kind of girl and I think you can achieve anything for a town if there is a sense of play for all the family, whether it be creative destination poi...

Community Pop Up Shops - Stoke Park

Image
A few months ago I wrote a piece on the Ipswich Conservative website and I have updated it below to incorporate my visit to the pop up community shop expansion into my ward Stoke Park at St Peters Church a couple of weeks ago. I had the pleasure of being invited to The Community Pop Up Shop founded by Graham Denny of the Basic Life Charity at All Hallows Church in Landseer Road, Ipswich. This is open every Tuesday at 11am. The idea behind it is to collect donations from several supermarkets for anyone who is happy to donate £2 for a bag which they then use to fill from the array of foods available. No means test, no referrals, just anyone who wishes to buy. I loved this idea. It was very evident from the moment I arrived at 10.30am when I saw a queue already forming, that this was also a community activity, bringing people together at the same time to chat while they waited to go in. I decided to talk to them to find out what it meant to them. The first woman I spoke to simply ans...

White Ribbon Campaign

In a room where people unanimously maintain a conspiracy of silence, one word of truth sounds like a pistol shot   - Cseslaw Milosz It’s time we looked at everything candidly and honourably. This White ribbon is not just to appear as if we are doing something. It’s about making a difference. The campaign is not about vilifying men, nor must we ever let it be. Nor is it saying that women are weak, not able to speak up or stand up for themselves or that every man is aggressive in some way. My opinion is that a man is more likely to come to a woman’s aid and be a knight in shining armour than to do anything that would hurt or debase her. The white ribbon is about messaging and speaking out to protect women and girls when they need it and crucially when they want it. Hubby came home a couple of weeks ago and told me about a horrible incident he witnessed in the town. A man had his hands around a woman’s throat in full view of the public. When he intervened and asked th...

Conservative Conference - Fun With A Serious Intent

I’ve spent quite a bit of time on twitter explaining why the Prime Minister's speech was brilliant and what the purpose is of a leader's words at the finale of a party's conference. What it isn’t is a summary of all the challenges we face and all the policies that are coming into play. That was the job of the rest of the conference and the cabinet’s key speeches. The left hate that Boris is such a charismatic orator, so optimistic and upbeat but that’s exactly what the grassroots need. He was speaking to conference and the nation about his vision and it was clearly spelt out – Levelling up and uniting the country with the passion and determination to make it happen. Compare this to Labour's divisive mindset and Starmer's boring offer. We don’t need the miserableness of the opposition or the doom and gloom main stream media who reject anything positive, especially if it's Conservative flavoured. It was the best speech I’ve ever heard at a conference and...

In Spite of Covid - Boris' Key Achievements in 2 Years

Got Brexit done by leaving the EU, delivering on our promise to the British people.  We have got Brexit done and taken back control of the issues that matter to the British people. Leaving the EU has given us the freedom to develop one of the fastest vaccine roll-outs in the world, establish 8 freeports across the country, install a points-based immigration system, and negotiate new trade deals with the EU and other countries. Signed almost 70 trade deals worth almost £900 billion into law, signalling to the world we are once again a sovereign free trading nation.  Our historic Trade Act allows us to put the agreements we have struck as a newly independent twenty-first century trading nation into law. For the first time in almost 50 years, the interests of the British people and their businesses’ can be put first in our trade agreements Establishing eight new Freeports across England, boosting jobs, investment and communities now that we have left the EU.  New Free...

The Real story behind Ipswich Conservative Success - Girl Power!

I'm not a raving feminist, never have been because I have always believed, as Mrs Thatcher did, that women must show, not tell their strengths and talents. Stop the talking and the victimhood and do the doing. I'ts there for any woman. The local elections have been a resounding success for Ipswich Conservatives but you would have to look at the small print in our local paper to even see remotely what actually happened. Suffolk County Council have not just gained some extra representatives for Ipswich as Conservative county councillors, more importantly they include 4 extra females representing Ipswich divisions for the Conservatives. And boy did each and every one of us deserve our victory because Labour were not just 'pipped' (as described in the Ipswich Star) but the swing to us was massive in anyone's books. But we cant get there without the support of many others. As well as the candidates, there were also some brilliant women behind the scenes.  Let's start...

Woke is Envy by a new name- part 2 - Stop the villifying of men

In my first post, I focused on feminism and 'concept creep'. Today I'd like to focus on challenging the current unproven claims by the far left who are determined to label and separate every group in order to divide. Marxists are very organised so please dismiss the idea that all of this political correctness has just evolved over time. It has not. It has been a co-ordinated strategy where various far left groups come together to blame the rest of us for all their ills, by dividing, pointing the finger and blaming the government, police, capitalism, anyone that doesnt agree with their socialist ideals. They are anti-normalists and want to destroy our western culture and family lives. The best thing to do is to look at the original claim, the way they pre-frame the issue, because if you don't do this and allow them to frame the debate, you will fall into the concept creep tactic I mentioned in my first blog post. A great example of this is the current issue of women...
